The most vocal, and perhaps most publicly sympathetic, opponents of the iron mine in Northern Wisconsin has been the Bad River Tribe of Chippewa.
However, the conservative watchdogs at Media Trackers discovered that these stone throwers are living in glass houses. In fact, according to the EPA, their water treatment facility has been violating the Clean Water Act for years.
The Bad River tribe's hypocrisy on water quality was so egregious that even the old school media had to cover the story. They even credited Media Trackers with the scoop, something the 'professional' journalists are loathe do do.
Kudos to Media Trackers, our winners of the day for once again doing the real work of real journalism and having their mainstream colleagues eventually catch up.
