Despite desperate attempts to impugn Judge Neil Gorsuch's record, it's clear that he is an excellent candidate for the Supreme Court. Hearings on Gorsuch's nomination being today in the Senate and Democrats are going to have a hard time defending a vote against putting Gorsuch on the Supreme Court.
If the Democrats decide to filibuster, as their base wants them to, then Republicans can follow the path of former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and do away with the 60-vote requirement to end debate. Democrats also have a number of senators defending seats in states Trump won.
The Democratic base is angry, and will push their senators to do the wrong thing. Senator Tammy Baldwin has already come out against Gorsuch's nomination. But in the end, Gorsuch is likely to be confirmed.
