When Republicans announced they would be passing some Democrat amendments to the mining bill today, Clark insisted it wasn't enough and that the already delayed project go back to the beginning.
"But we explained to them in the beginning was that there's really no way short of starting over that this bill can be made acceptable to our caucus,” said Clark.
The legislature has spent well over a year discussing and debating the mining regulation reforms. Hearings have been held all over the state. The people have had their say. It’s time for an up or down vote. Fortunately, Clark’s back bencher status means he can do little damage to the bill.
