Today we are opening nominations for the Right Women Awards, which will include the first Margaret Thatcher Award.

"The women selected to choose the winners of the Right Women Awards will recognize hard-won victories and raise up those who will fight for Wisconsin," said Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. "The Right Women Awards will salute female leaders and role models in Wisconsin whose contributions to the state have impacted or altered history."

Kleefisch will chair a committee of 18 women who will review the nominations and determine the award winners. The awards will be presented at a black tie dinner at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee on October 18th. Wisconsin's First Lady Tonette Walker will serve as the dinner's honorary host.

In total, four awards will be presented at the dinner, including the Thatcher Award which will be bestowed to the conservative female whose unique character, contributions and effort.

"The Right Women Awards will be a beacon for Wisconsin conservatives," Kleefisch said, "something for conservative women to aspire to, a celebration of achievement and a call to action for further progress."
